NASCAR SUPER LATE MODELS
This class is Edmonton Int'l Raceway's Premier Race Class. This is a Late Model Race Car very similar to the cars that you would see racing the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. This class is sanctioned by NASCAR with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. This Series gives the Late Model Racers racing at Edmonton Int'l Raceway the opportunity to race against fellow NASCAR racers throughout North America without having to spend the additional dollars associated with touring to different tracks. Racers in this class compete for NASCAR Points money and new for 2007 Edmonton Int'l Raceway has secured a $10,000 Points Fund Sponsor for the NASCAR Super Late Models racing at EIR. This points fund will be in addition to the money paid out by NASCAR at year-end (in 2006 NASCAR Racers at EIR received over $18,000). The NASCAR Late Models race at EIR a total of 14 nights with selected events including a Double Feature Night. This allows the racers some additional time off during the season but still provides them with over 20 Feature Races to collect points towards their NASCAR Championship Series. In 2006 the EIR NASCAR Champion was #89 Terry Dowler. NASCAR provides the Track Champion with 4 tickets to the NASCAR banquet in Vegas. This is an awesome event, this year we met Mike Helton and Jimmy Spencer, along with other notable personalities. The EIR NASCAR Track Championship is certainly an award worth working towards during the race season, NASCAR treats their Champions in grand style and it's an honour the Champion will remember forever!

NASCAR K-ROCK THUNDER CARS
The K-Rock Thunder Car has been a solid class at Edmonton Int'l Raceway for more than 10 years. This class allows racers to experience racing in an entry-level class. There are very few modifications allowed in this class yet the field is extremely competitive putting on an awesome show every night that they race. This race car can be built using any North American Car, 1955 or newer, rear wheel drive only. Most Thunder Car events have at least 20 cars participating each night. The K-Rock Thunder Car is an excellent stepping stone for those racers who started in the Claimer Car Class and wish to move forward in their racing skills or you can easily start your racing "career" with the K-Rock Thunder Car. In 2007 the K-Rock Thunder Cars will be sanctioned by NASCAR. This sanctioning will provide the NASCAR K-Rock Thunder Car Racers with a year-end NASCAR Points fund.

OSMAN AUCTION CLAIMER CARS
The Claimer Car Class is a fun and easy way to get involved in racing at Edmonton Int'l Raceway. This is a 4 cylinder, front wheel drive, automatic car, add some safety features (i.e. door bar, roll-over posts, harness, window net) and off you go racing! At the end of each race night, these racers line their Claimer Cars up along the front straightaway and anyone can claim their car for $400. The claimed car is left at the race track and you must race it the following week.

CYCLE WORKS SPEEDWAY SUPER MOTO
This is a Super Motard Class that invites all "Motocross" type racers to come and play! The course is set up to include the sandy area directly in front of the spectators on the front straightaway with a tabletop jump and some smaller jumps and then the course turns to include 1/2 of the paved oval. Everyone who likes this type of racing is encouraged to join the group. We run this as a Championship Series with the top 3 racers at the end of the year participating in our DERKS Formals Champions Walk of Fame
.

ALBERTA OUTLAW MODIFIEDS
This class of car was started in the mid-1980's by a group of racers in Edmonton who wanted more of a challenge in a race car. These cars run on both pavement at EIR and dirt at other tracks. The drivers themselves have built most of the cars that they race today. This car runs a stock chassis with a stock passenger car frame and must use stock suspension parts. There is an engine claim rule of $1,000 in effect to keep the class competitive. The Alberta Outlaw Modifieds are quite unique looking and run everything from a Vauxhall, Prowler and even a Gremlin. The Alberta Outlaw Modified racers are always excited to meet their fans and they welcome you to talk to them about their class anytime.

HIT TO PASS
This is an extremely popular class at Edmonton Int'l Raceway. The Hit to Pass Classes invites "Demolition Derby" Type cars to participate in this 5 event Championship Series. The rules are very simple on the track, you cannot pass another car unless you "HIT" them first! A ton of fun!
