OSMAN AUCTION FUTURE STOCKS
The Future Stock Class using the same cars as the Feature Stocks however this class is designated solely for those kids the age of 12 years of age and up to 15. At 14 years of age they can race in both the Future and Feature Stocks however once they are past 15 they must move up into the Feature Stock Class. This class is growing steadily all the time, an excellent way to get your child involved in racing!
Because we are repaving this Spring, we will not have Hit to Pass for the 2014 Race Season. Many of our daring Hit To Pass Racers are building Stackers, that will be fun!
This class of car was started in the mid-1980's by a group of racers in Edmonton who wanted more of a challenge in a race car. The drivers themselves have built most of the cars that they race today. This car runs a stock chassis with a stock passenger car frame and must use stock suspension parts. The Modifieds are quite unique looking and run everything from a Vauxhall, Prowler and even a Gremlin. The Alberta Modified racers are always excited to meet their fans and they welcome you to talk to them about their class anytime.
EVOLUTION RACING MINI CUPS
Evolution Cup Cars are 1/2 scale stock cars built like the NASCAR Cup Cars. They have chrome moly tube chassis, adjustable suspension, coil over shocks, disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. They run a stock 13 HP air cooled Honda engine with an electric start. This class is for kids 8 years old to 16 years of age.
The Legends Cars are also making Edmonton Intl Raceway a Home Track for their 2011 Race Season and will appear on our schedule for six events. The Legends Cars were created in 1992 by 500 Racing Inc. of North Carolina The Legends Car consists of a tubular frame and roll cage, a 125 HP motorcycle engine run through a locked differential and tight responsive steering. The total weight is approximately 1150 pounds. When the Legends Cars come to Edmonton Intl Raceway, expect to see at least 25 cars on the track for the Feature Event!
NASCAR SUPER STOCK LATE MODELS
The NASCAR Super Stock Late Models are now our Feature Division for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series. You will see this class move ahead tremendously here at Edmonton Intl Raceway with new bodies and other additions making them a great looking car.
NASCAR LATE MODELS
This is a Late Model Race Car very similar to the cars that you would see racing in the NASCAR Sprint Car Cup Series.
NASCAR THUNDER CARS
The NASCAR Thunder Car has been a solid class at Edmonton Intl Raceway for more than 14 years. This class allows racers to experience racing in an entry-level class. There are very few modifications allowed in this class yet the field is extremely competitive putting on an awesome show every night that they race. This race car can be built using any North American Car, 1955 or newer, rear wheel drive only. The Thunder Car is an excellent stepping stone for those racers who started in the Feature Stock Class and wish to move forward in their racing skills or you can easily start your racing "career" with the Thunder Car.
IMCA MODIFIEDS (International Motor Contest Associates Canada Inc.)
I.M.C.A. Modifieds exploded onto the Canadian racing scene in 1988 and thundered their way into the hearts of Canadian race fans 63i. in four provinces and as well as the N.W.T.'s. These high powered P "At race cars are famous for their thundering sound and "go hard or go home" style style of racing that thrills fans young and old on any given Saturday night. These Modifieds are full breed racing machines limited only by the small Hoosier racing tire and the engine claim rule designed to keep this high level racing affordable. Don't let these limits fool you, I.M.C.A. Modifieds are piloted by some of the best and most motivated drivers in Canada with many calling Edmonton International Raceway their Home Track. On any given race night you can see former Track Champions, National Champions as well as drivers who have previously competed in classes ranging from EIR's Thunder Cars to NASCAR'S Sprint Cup. But all bets are off tonight, the slate is cleared every season and every driver is battling for a chance to win, there are no favourites here other than the driver you cheer for. Come on race fans, stand up and let the I.M.C.A. champions of speed hear you!
This is a brand new class at Edmonton Intl Raceway. It is a fun and exciting class meant to make the crowd laugh and have a good time watching! Not nearly as hard to build as they look, you may want to get one going yourself and get involved! The Racer "on the bottom" controls the gas pedal and the brake and the Racer "on the top" handles the steering. You simply can't miss this one!
FEATURE STOCK SOCCER
This is a fun class we scheduled only once or twice in the year. Using a giant soccer ball Feature Stock Racers (in their cars) team up to create a soccer game using their cars to move the ball around, its fun and different and makes for some laughs at the end of the tough night!
